In the Rajya Sabha on Thursday, DMK MP Tiruchi Siva raised concerns over the delayed publication of the Archaeological Survey of India's report on the Keezhadi excavations. He stated this postponement denies the Tamil people the chance to appreciate their cultural heritage.

The excavation, which began in 2013-14 under archaeologist K Amarnath Ramakrishna, unearthed 7,500 artifacts. After a halt in 2016, the State Archaeological Department discovered an additional 15,000 artifacts. The report remains unpublished despite Siva's appeal for transparency.

Despite assurances for the report's publication by 2024, it stands unpublished as of December 2025. Siva calls for its release to ensure the cultural narrative is known while underscoring its significance to Indian culture at large.
