An international music festival is set to enliven the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, commencing Friday at Marina Park, which overlooks the scenic Bay of Bengal. This landmark event brings together international and regional talent, with performances from revered acts such as Japanese drumming group 'Drum Tao' and remarkable Indian vocalist Suswati Mallick.
According to Tourism Director Vinayak Chamadia, the event will notably feature traditional Nicobari dance and showcase the vocals of Nicobari youth band 'Kuan Panam'. Chamadia emphasized that this is the first time the islands are hosting an international-caliber festival, a move designed to establish them as a burgeoning node for art and culture.
Security measures have been tightened, and entry remains free to encourage widespread community participation. The event will conclude on Saturday with performances by local singers and students, further cementing the islands' role as a center for cultural expression and artistic fusion.
