Tamil Nadu's Industries Minister, TRB Rajaa, launched a scathing critique against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing it of misinterpreting Tamil Nadu's cultural heritage and festivals.
The criticism followed Union Home Minister Amit Shah's mix-up in festival greetings, wishing 'Thiruvalluvar Day' instead of 'Pongal', thereby highlighting a disconnect with Tamil traditions, according to Rajaa.
He argued that the BJP's top leadership should strive to appreciate and understand Tamil festivals, as they misunderstand the region's rich cultural calendar, suggesting a need for greater cultural sensitivity from the central political leaders.
