The Republic Day Parade this year will commemorate the 150th anniversary of 'Vande Mataram', with enclosure backdrops adorned with vintage art and floral tributes to its composer, Bankim Chandra Chatterjee.
In a shift from tradition, enclosures are named after Indian rivers instead of VVIP labels, as revealed by Defence Ministry officials.
Defence Secretary R K Singh highlighted new features of the 77th celebrations, including performances by military and CAPF bands themed on 'Vande Mataram' across 235 locations in over 120 cities.
