Veteran actor Neena Gupta has lauded comedian and actor Sunil Grover for his range, screen presence, and acting prowess, advocating for his transition into more substantial roles beyond comedy. Grover, renowned for his stint on 'Comedy Nights with Kapil,' has also showcased his talent in films like 'Ghajini' and 'Jawan'.

Gupta, who shared the screen with Grover in the 2022 movie 'Goodbye', praised his looks and talent, stating in an exclusive ANI interview, "Sunil is a handsome, great actor. I hope he breaks away from comedic roles." Reflecting on the industry's typecasting issue, she likened Grover's situation to that of actor Mehmood, questioning why such talents are seldom cast in leading roles.

While advising young actresses, Gupta recommended careful consideration before embracing comedy roles, especially if they aspire to leading parts. Sharing her own experience with 'Saath Saath,' a film that typecast her despite its success, she warned that early success in comedy could restrict actors' future role diversity.
