The Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) strongly refuted media reports regarding alleged financial discrepancies in the Global Ayyappa Sangamam, declaring them 'factually incorrect' and baseless. The Sangamam, part of TDB's Platinum Jubilee celebrations, was held on September 20, 2025, at Pamba and drew scrutiny over reported spending.
Clarifying the issues, the TDB dismissed allegations about expenses such as a cot purchase for Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. Furthermore, the board denied claims of inflated accommodation and food bills, stating they served both guests and visiting devotees at Sabarimala.
The board ensured the audit discrepancies would be addressed, as the Kerala High Court requested explanations concerning the event's financial management. As of now, sponsorships have mitigated concerns of misallocated contributions from Devaswom funds.
