The Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) has categorically denied media allegations regarding the audit report of the recent Global Ayyappa Sangamam. TDB officials labeled these reports as misleading, asserting that the accusations of overspending are not supported by evidence.
Clarifying the points under scrutiny, the TDB stated there was no mention of any expenditure for Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in its audit or Special Commissioner's report. The Board clarified that accusations of misallocation of funds, such as the supposed purchase of a cot for the CM, were entirely fabricated.
Furthermore, the TDB detailed expenditure logistics, stating that the event was funded by sponsorships and funds allocated under the budget for 'Religious Convention & Discourse.' They also addressed misconceptions about food expense allocations during the event and reiterated the intent to rectify audit discrepancies revealed by the Kerala High Court.
