Bill Gates, famed Microsoft co-founder, will no longer be speaking at the India AI Impact Summit following controversy surrounding his association with the late Jeffrey Epstein. Initially slated to deliver the keynote address, Gates was removed from the summit's list of key speakers as discussions over his connection to Epstein intensified.
The Gates Foundation announced the change, emphasizing the decision's intent to maintain the focus on the Summit's central goals rather than shifting attention toward unrelated controversies. Despite Gates' exclusion, the Foundation remains committed to its work in India, represented instead by Ankur Vora at the Summit.
Although government sources confirmed the decision to remove Gates due to discomfort over Epstein-related documents, Gates has not been accused of any wrongdoing. The decision to withdraw Gates' participation was made despite swift communication from his Foundation contradicting earlier statements about his absence.
