A wreath was found placed in front of the residence of writer and critic VS Anilkumar in Kannapuram on Thursday, sparking concern and controversy. Anilkumar, who recently received a book by expelled CPI(M) member V Kunhikrishnan, has been critical of the party, alleging financial misappropriation by a local MLA.

The discovery was made by Anilkumar's son as he left for football coaching. Anilkumar lodged a formal complaint, prompting police to examine CCTV footage from the vicinity. While there are no immediate suspects, a case will be registered following a detailed statement from Anilkumar.
