In a unique tribute to the Indian cricket team, artisans in Varanasi have crafted 15 special Banarasi sarees themed around cricket. These sarees, designed with motifs of India's World Cup trophies, are set to be presented to team players as gifts following the ICC Men's T20 World Cup final.

Laghu Udyog Bharati Kashi province secretary, Sarvesh Srivastava, highlighted that the designs incorporate the current year's T20 World Cup trophy alongside traditional cricket symbols like bats and balls. The sarees are crafted in the classic Banarasi style and carefully packed in decorative boxes containing photos of the players.

With each piece costing between Rs 25,000 and Rs 30,000, artisans spent approximately a month and a half on production. The initiative aims to boost team morale and exhibit Banarasi craftsmanship. Meanwhile, prayers for the team's success were conducted at the Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham, with devotees offering aartis to the Ganga River.
