Dombivli Women Set Guinness Record with Lezim Dance

On International Women's Day, 9,111 women in Dombivli set a new Guinness World Record with a lezim dance performance. The previous record was held by 7,338 participants. Organized by local authorities to celebrate culture and strength, this event highlighted traditional Indian dance and fostered community spirit.

In a remarkable display of cultural pride, 9,111 women gathered in Dombivli, Thane district, to set a new Guinness World Record for the largest lezim dance performance on International Women's Day. Characterized by its vigorous movements and rhythmic beats, the traditional folk dance saw an overwhelming participation, overshadowing the previous record set by Sangli Shikshan Sanstha with 7,338 participants.

Held at the Shri Sant Savalaram Sports Complex, the five-and-a-half-minute performance was more than just a demonstration of skill; it was a testament to India's rich cultural heritage. Swapnil Dangarikar, the official Guinness adjudicator, confirmed the record-breaking achievement, which was organized by Dombivlikar Ek Sanskriti Parivar, an initiative led by Maharashtra BJP president and local MLA Ravindra Chavan.

Eager to foster a physically fit and culturally vibrant nation, the event aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision for India. Chavan dedicated the record to Mother India, emphasizing the importance of cultural strength and unity as demonstrated by the collective enthusiasm and participation of women and students from the region.
