Inspiring Legacy: Vamandada Kardak Memorial to Ignite Generational Change

Union Minister Ramdas Athawale highlighted the significance of the forthcoming Vamandada Kardak memorial as a beacon for future generations. The monument will celebrate Kardak's impactful contribution to social change through his poetry promoting Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar's ideals of equality, brotherhood, and justice. Constructed at Rs 13.67 crore, it aims to inspire ongoing social progress.

The Union Minister, Ramdas Athawale, emphasized the transformative potential of the upcoming memorial dedicated to Lokkavi Vamandada Kardak as a source of inspiration for generations to come. Speaking at the Bhoomipujan ceremony in Sinnar taluka, Athawale extolled Kardak's legacy as a thinker who effectively championed Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar's message of equality, brotherhood, and justice through his poetry and songs.

Kardak, born in 1922 in Nashik district, significantly awakened the Bahujan society's sense of self-respect and social consciousness through his literary works, including over 10,000 songs dedicated to Ambedkarite ideology. Athawale noted, "His songs inspired social change by instilling confidence in society." The memorial, which will cost Rs 13.67 crore, is intended to perpetuate this legacy.

Social Justice Minister Sanjay Shirsat mentioned that the memorial would serve as an intellectual lighthouse, while State School Education Minister Dada Bhuse indicated plans to integrate study facilities for students. The Social Justice Department is spearheading the project, spanning 21 acres, reinforcing Kardak's enduring influence on societal transformation.
