Two houseboats in Palathuruthy, Anahitha and Catherine, were engulfed in flames following an LPG cylinder blast. Thankfully, all tourists escaped without injury. Firefighters quickly controlled the blaze, but a police investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the explosion.

An unexpected disaster struck in Palathuruthy on Thursday when an LPG cylinder exploded, setting two houseboats ablaze, officials reported. The houseboats, Anahitha and Catherine, succumbed to the flames early in the morning, around 6.30 am.
One boat accommodated tourists who narrowly avoided harm by leaping into the waters. Swift action by the Alappuzha Fire and Rescue Services ensured the blaze was contained within two hours, preventing further damage and casualties.
Authorities have commenced a thorough investigation to ascertain the circumstances leading to the explosive incident. Fortunately, all tourists involved managed to escape unscathed.
