In a major development for Himachal Pradesh's tourism sector, a new hotel worth Rs 180 crore is set to rise in Kangra district. The project, part of an Asian Development Bank initiative, was announced by R S Bali, Chairman of the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation, at a press conference.

Slated to include the state's first-ever musical fountain, this five-star property will nestle at the picturesque foothills of the Dhauladhar range. The large-scale project, billed as Kangra's largest hotel development, will finalize its tender process by April 6, according to Bali.

Further investments in the region include Rs 45 crore for the renovation of Shimla's Hotel Holiday Home, with central approval, and substantial funds allocated for hotel renovations in Manali, Hamir, and Jwalamukhi. A 24-7 call center for the corporation has also received a green light.
