The Goa leg of DJ Black Coffee's India tour was unexpectedly cancelled when authorities withdrew the event's No Objection Certificate (NOC). Officials cited the religious importance of Good Friday as the reason behind this decision, following objections from locals and the Congress party.
The event, titled 'Sunset-to-Night,' was to take place on April 3 in Anjuna. Permission was revoked by the managing committee of the Comunidade of Anjuna due to its concurrence with Holy Week, calling for respect towards religious sentiments of the community.
Amit Patkar, Goa Pradesh Congress Committee President, criticized the event's timing, urging cancellation and an apology for disrespecting faith. The cancellation disappointed many revellers, who were informed just before the event was to commence.
