Sunitha Krishnan Honored with Mathrubhumi National Award for Selfless Service

Sunitha Krishnan, a renowned social worker and Padma Shri recipient, has been honored with Mathrubhumi's national award in memory of M P Veerendra Kumar. Acknowledging her dedication to women and children's welfare, Krishnan's organization 'Prajwala' aids victims of human trafficking and sexual abuse, reflecting her unwavering commitment to human rights.

Sunitha Krishnan, the illustrious social worker and Padma Shri laureate, has been selected for Mathrubhumi's prestigious national award instituted in memory of its late leader M P Veerendra Kumar. This accolade recognizes her tireless dedication to supporting vulnerable women and children who have been victims of neglect.

Krishnan's organization, 'Prajwala', stands at the forefront in providing shelter, education, and advocacy for those affected by human trafficking and sexual abuse. Thousands have benefitted from its initiatives, transforming their lives through legal aid and vocational training.

The award, which includes a plaque, a certificate, and a monetary prize, will be presented in a ceremony in Kozhikode. Eminent personalities, including Rajya Sabha MP Jairam Ramesh, will grace the occasion, underscoring the significance of her remarkable contributions.
