Tragedy Strikes: Bargi Dam Boat Mishap Claims Nine Lives

The death toll in the Bargi Dam tragedy rose to nine on Friday, as rescuers recovered the bodies of five more persons who were aboard the capsized cruise boat in Madhya Pradesh's Jabalpur.
Speaking to PTI Videos, Madhya Pradesh Tourism Minister Dharmendra Bhav Singh Lodhi confirmed the recoveries and stated that a comprehensive probe would address safety concerns, such as the absence of life jackets raised by survivors.
Rescue operations are in full swing with substantial support from Army, NDRF, and SDRF teams. Hydraulic cranes are deployed to retrieve the boat that overturned amidst stormy conditions, contributing to the tragedy.
