Enduring high temperatures and challenging terrain, four youths from Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh have embarked on a remarkable nine-month journey to the revered Amarnath Shrine. Their mission is to perform 'dandavat pranam,' a demanding religious practice involving full-body prostrations, to convey a message of Sanatan Dharma and communal harmony.
As they traverse the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway in Ramban district, these young pilgrims progress solely through full-body prostrations. This arduous form of pilgrimage involves devotees moving forward by lying flat on the ground repeatedly, aiming for the sacred cave shrine that hosts the naturally formed ice lingam of Lord Shiva at an elevation of approximately 3,880 meters in the South Kashmir Himalayas.
Braving extreme weather conditions, from the scorching plains to the frigid Himalayan terrain, the youths carry minimal belongings on a bicycle. Their steadfast resolve is fueled by chants of 'Baba Barfani,' as they seek to uphold the values of Sanatan Dharma and advocate for India's recognition of the cow as a national animal. Their journey underscores a higher purpose, promoting unity and coexistence, serving as a living testament to devotion and social harmony.
