Journey of Faith: Kailash Mansarovar Yatra Revives Ancient Pilgrimage
The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra will occur from June to August via routes in Uttarakhand and Sikkim, resuming after India's five-year break with China. Managed by India's Ministry of External Affairs, the pilgrimage, significant to Hindus, Jains, and Buddhists, offers a computerised selection for applicants deciding on routes.

The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, a revered pilgrimage, is scheduled from June to August this year, with routes through the Lipulekh Pass in Uttarakhand and Nathu La in Sikkim, according to a statement by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).
Holding religious importance for Hindus, Jains, and Buddhists, the Yatra returns after a five-year hiatus caused by the pandemic and border tensions between India and China. Coordinating with the Chinese government, the MEA will facilitate the journeys of 10 batches of 50 pilgrims via each route.
Applications are being accepted on the dedicated website kmy.gov.in, with a computer-generated and gender-balanced selection process ensuring fairness. The registration deadline is May 19, marking a seamless digital framework from application to selection.
