Healing Amidst Ruins: Palestinian Families Find Respite at Caracalla
The Baths of Caracalla, an ancient Roman site, provided a therapeutic setting for Palestinian families evacuated from Gaza. Through Italy's humanitarian corridors, these families, now in Rome, enjoyed a day of leisure, social interaction, and healing away from the turmoil of home.
The historic Baths of Caracalla once served ancient Romans as a center for leisure and health. Now, this majestic site has offered a day of relief to Palestinian families who were evacuated from Gaza amidst the ongoing conflict, as part of Italy's 'humanitarian corridors' initiative.
Guides for Gaza arranged for the families to visit the archaeological site, enjoy snacks, games, and moments of social togetherness. The initiative provided a much-needed break from the stress and memories of war while allowing families to reconnect with others they hadn't seen since their evacuation.
Beyond the site's historical allure, the day also supported Gazelle, a nonprofit committed to child protection projects in Gaza, with tours for Italians that were exchanged for charitable donations.
