A tragic accident unfolded in Odisha's Jajpur district on Monday when an SUV carrying twelve passengers collided with a truck. The crash resulted in the deaths of five individuals, including two women, and injuries to seven others.
The group was returning home from a wedding ceremony when their vehicle rammed the truck near Barada Chhak on the Daitary-Paradeep express highway. Such was the impact of the collision that the SUV got lodged beneath the truck.
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi expressed his grief, announcing Rs 4 lakh for each victim's family from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund. Authorities are ensuring the injured receive the best possible treatment as investigations continue to determine the cause of the incident.
