Tragedy in Tinseltown: Drug Counselor Sentenced Over Matthew Perry's Death

Erik Fleming, a licensed drug addiction counselor, was sentenced to two years in prison for delivering the doses of ketamine that resulted in the demise of 'Friends' star Matthew Perry.

Sentenced in a Los Angeles federal court, the 56-year-old Fleming expressed deep remorse. Prosecutors highlighted the deception by a counselor entrusted with aiding addicts, noting the actor's known struggles. Fleming's cooperation with authorities, which led to the arrest of the notorious 'Ketamine Queen', was acknowledged by both sides.

Despite this, the prosecution argued that his confession was motivated by self-preservation rather than genuine concern for justice. The former counselor's lawyer emphasized his clean record and momentary lapse in judgment prompted by personal crisis.
