Despite battling a rare form of cancer for almost three years, Adrija Gan of Nimta emerged as a top performer in the West Bengal Higher Secondary examination. The teenager scored 487 marks, ranking joint 10th in the merit list, showcasing her remarkable resilience and dedication to academics.
Adrija's fight against T-cell lymphoma, diagnosed in 2018 during her class 6 exams, included 82 chemotherapy sessions. Yet, she excelled academically, scoring 94% in her class 10 board exams. Her father, a political science teacher, and her mother, a fellow educator, supported her through the emotional and financial challenges of her treatment.
Studying arts, Adrija aspires to pursue Psychology and contribute to mental health research. Known for her calm and disciplined nature, she now dreams of enrolling at Bethune College. Beyond academics, Adrija enjoys singing and Bengali literature, inspiring others with her message of perseverance.
