In response to escalating summer heat, the Jungle Safari near the Statue of Unity has introduced provisions such as air conditioners and sprinklers to safeguard exotic wildlife, officials announced on Saturday. The Sardar Patel Zoological Park, housing roughly 1,500 animals and birds, is taking notable steps to prevent discomfort for its diverse inhabitants.

Director Vipul Chakravarty detailed that unique facilities were established to ensure that non-native animals endure minimal heat stress. Tourists, too, benefit from improved infrastructure, including shaded areas and chilled drinking water, designed to enhance their visit despite blistering temperatures reaching above 40 degrees Celsius.

The safari has equipped several animal enclosures with air coolers and sprayers, while special summer diets featuring fruit juices and frozen treats are being administered. Veterinary experts are vigilantly attending to animal well-being, complementing the conservation-themed educational initiatives hosted at the park.
