Sudhakar Shetty, an erstwhile hotel entrepreneur, was found dead in an apparent suicide in the Udupi district on Saturday. His demise unfolded after Shetty shared a poignant WhatsApp status, pointing fingers at his wife, Gunaratna, and brother-in-law, Nagaraj, for alleged harassment.

The tragic incident occurred when Shetty reportedly jumped into a river near the Vandse bridge, situated within the Kollur police jurisdiction. Local authorities were alerted after his chilling message suggested a deteriorating domestic life, urging relatives to care for his children following his death.

According to police sources, Shetty relocated from Mumbai to his native Byndoor a year ago. Living in Vandse, his wife's hometown, Shetty's family circumstances reportedly declined, steeped in marital strife and disagreements. Authorities confirmed ongoing investigations into this heartbreaking case.
