Kritika Kamra to lead new movie 'Dumbbell'
Actor Kritika Kamra is set to star in the upcoming film "Dumbbell", marking the directorial debut of writer Pushaan Mukherjee, who has described her role as physically and emotionally demanding.
Actor Kritika Kamra is set to play the lead role in an upcoming move that will mark the directorial debut of writer Pushaan Mukherjee.
Kamra, who recently received praise for her performances in series ''Matka King'' and ''The Great Shamsuddin Family'', will start shooting for the project in June, a press release said.
Though the plot details have been kept under wraps, an insider said the actor will have a role that is both ''physically and emotionally demanding and creatively refreshing''.
''Kritika was immediately drawn to the world of the film because of how different it is from her previous work. As a drama, the film gives her immense scope as a performer, and she has already started prep to fully immerse herself in the character before cameras roll next month,'' the insider said.
The film is tentatively titled ''Dumbbell''.
Mukherjee is best known for his work as a writer on the Kunal Kemu-led series ''Abhay'', which ran on ZEE5 for three seasons.
He has also worked on films such as ''2 States'', ''Kapoor & Sons'' and ''Saaho'' in various capacities.
