A poignant motorcycle rally occurred in Arunachal Pradesh’s Tirap district, honoring the late Havildar Hangpan Dada on his death anniversary. The revered soldier was killed during a crucial infiltration counteraction in Jammu and Kashmir back in 2016, an attempt recalled solemnly by an official on Tuesday.
The Khonsa Battalion of Assam Rifles spearheaded the rally, launching it from the picturesque Deomali helipad on Monday and concluding at Dada's well-kept memorial in Borduria. Havildar Dada, then with the 35 Rashtriya Rifles, met his end in the line of duty during intense combat in the Naugam sector of Kupwara, taking down four militants before succumbing to his own injuries.
Approximately 70 participants, representing both Assam Rifles and civilian assemblies, carried the rally’s messages of peace and unity, embodying national pride. The event culminated with floral tributes at Dada's memorial, a gesture underscoring the valor of the decorated soldier while nudging contemporary and future generations toward honoring his legacy of courage and sacrifice.
