Amruta Fadnavis, the spouse of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, has adopted cycling for local errands as a commitment to fuel conservation, inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's appeal. She shared a video of her cycling through Mumbai streets on social media.

"Motivated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's initiative on fuel-saving, I've begun using a bicycle for any tasks within a 5-7 kilometer range from my residence," stated Amruta, highlighting her step towards reducing petrol and diesel consumption while promoting personal health.

Earlier, Amruta Fadnavis announced her decision to skip attending the Cannes Film Festival, citing the Prime Minister's call for austerity. She had been invited to showcase Maharashtra's rich culture and handloom legacy at the renowned event in France.
