Gangtok Gears Up for Sikkim Utsav to Highlight Local Culture and Products

Gangtok will host a Sikkim-centric festival from June 5-7, celebrating local art, culture, and entrepreneurship. The event, initiated by the state's commerce and industries department, supports MSMEs and aims to showcase Sikkim's talents in art and business.

From June 5 to 7, Gangtok will host the Sikkim Utsav, a festival designed to spotlight local entrepreneurs and cultural offerings. This three-day event at MG Marg aims to foster appreciation for the state's art, music, food, handicrafts, and organic products, connecting residents and tourists alike to Sikkimese culture.

Organized by the state's commerce and industries department under the Centre's RAMP scheme, the festival provides a platform to boost the visibility of Sikkim’s creative and business innovations. Past editions took place in different cities, but this year they return to the heart of Sikkim, offering a vibrant gathering of artisans, performers, and entrepreneurs.

Department secretary Karma D Yutso expressed enthusiasm for the event's potential to unify the community and display the wealth of talent in the region. Visitors can look forward to exploring a dynamic mix of locally crafted goods, traditional cuisine, and cultural showcases throughout this engaging celebration.
