Star-Studded Lineup Joins Netflix's High-Stakes Drama 'The Roman'

Shalom Brune-Franklin and Jimmy O. Yang have joined the cast of Netflix's 'The Roman', a drama set in modern Las Vegas. The series stars Oscar Isaac as Bobby Redman, a casino president facing power struggles. The show is created by Brian Koppelman and David Levien, with JC Chandor directing the initial episodes.

Actor Shalom Brune-Franklin and Jimmy O. Yang are the latest stars to illuminate the cast roster of Netflix's Las Vegas-based drama series, 'The Roman', headlined by Oscar Isaac, as reported by Variety.

Brune-Franklin will portray Jessica Christine 'JC' Griffin, a dynamic and diligent figure ascending in the casino world, characterized as 'a vital host and fixer' who adeptly manages the demands of high-stakes clients while carefully plotting her own significant career ambitions.

Meanwhile, Yang takes on the role of Rich Tzu, an erudite, Eton-schooled executive, establishing himself as a formidable competitor to Isaac's character, Bobby. Set across eight one-hour episodes, 'The Roman' unfolds in a contemporary yet perilous Las Vegas Strip.

The narrative follows Robert 'Bobby Red' Redman, incarnated by Isaac, assuming the helm of the city's premier hotel casino. As his authority faces threats, Bobby must venture bold decisions to cement his dominance and carve out expanded control in Sin City.

The ensemble cast is further enriched with notable names such as Betty Gilpin, Alec Baldwin, and David Costabile. Helmed by creators Brian Koppelman and David Levien, whose prior narrative exploits in Vegas include the acclaimed films 'Rounders' and 'Ocean's Thirteen,' 'The Roman' promises a riveting storytelling experience.

JC Chandor is set to direct the opening episodes, while legendary filmmaker Martin Scorsese joins as an executive producer through Sikelia Productions, alongside Julie Yorn and Rick Yorn from Expanded Media. The production team includes Paul Schiff, Beth Schacter, and Isaac, with Kerry Orent supporting as a co-executive producer.
