Yuri On Ice Season 2 is one of the most-anticipated anime today. One of the reasons why the anime enthusiasts have been passionately waiting for it since Season 1 dropped its finale in December 2016 is the unique storyline that has made the series a globally-acclaimed sports content.
Several anime aficionados from Japan and America have appealed the MAPPA studio to renew Yuri On Ice Season 2. Yuri Plisetsky, popularly known as Yuri P, was one notable character in Season 1. He was the fast-rising skater who is on the track to be next star in the figure skating arena.
Yuri On Ice Season 2 is expected to feature both Yuri P and Yuri Katsuki (popularly known as Yuri K). The series has always been in the discussions because of the same-sex relationship depicted in the Sayo Yamamoto-series. The anime lovers will be happy to know that MAPPA studio is currently busy with the movie version of another favourite anime called Ice Adolescence. That's the reason they are unable to focus on the second season of Yuri On Ice.
The second season, which doesn't have the official release date (believed to be released in 2020), is expected to pick up from the time when Russian figure-skating champion Victor Nikiforov trains and inspires Yuri K who lost fate in his own skating abilities. It is even rumoured that Yuri K's tale is far away from getting completed, which is another sign of the series to return.
The official plot summary or synopsis for Yuri On Ice Season 2 is not yet available but it is confirmed to feature a total of 12 episodes, as reported by EconoTimes. But the upcoming film titled Yuri On Ice the Movie: Ice Adolescence is expected to depict the growing romance between the gay characters Victor and Yuri. The movie will be released in this year. Even a previously released trailer hinted that the film could be a prequel to the series. The poster revealed for the movie gives a glimpse of his back in which he was seen tucking his long hair into a scarf.
