Carlo spirit in Toy Story 4

The end of Toy Story 3 was exquisite. Audiences were satisfied but well knew that this is the end for Toys' adventures on cinema screens. Toys that, since 1995, mixed the nostalgic world with the secret world.

The mixture of mysteries with nostalgia is a good strategy that almost invariably has succeeded in attracting audiences. Animations such as Monsters Inc and the Secret Life of Pets have used this strategy, and have got a great success. Of course, there is a big danger in this road to sweet success, and it is the downfall in the valley of repetition and bewilderment.

There was a big question before release Toy Story 4, that how Pixar challenges Pixar's biggest brand? The excitement rose to its highest pitch when Pixar announced the name of director for Toy Story 4. Pixar selected Josh Cooley. Josh Cooley was the screenwriter and animator at Pixar. He has much experience in films such as Ratatouille (2007), Cars 2 (2011), Inside Out (2015), and Riley's First Date? (2015, short). But the director of a feature-length film was a new experience for Cooley. Of course, behind Cooley, there was an experienced team. The screenwriter was Andrew Stanton. While the main story created by ingenuity John Alan Lasseter and skill Rashida Jones.

Shortly after the film's release, the result of this cooperation became evident. Toy Story 4 worthily get the best rank of the box office in a short time.

In Toy Story 4 see profound upheavals, and It is more profound than changes in the film crew. Characters have found a deeper identity. Bo Peep's character had the biggest change, and I can tell, she now is a warrior angel. Also, She is the main answer to all questions of film. Despite all of these, Toy Story 4 has common parts with some of the concepts and elements of one-story old and charming. Concepts that after years still shines like a star, and to dazzle the eyes of artistry to itself.

Let's broaden the perspective a little bit and look for Toy Story 4. What is the principal question in Toy Story 4? Is it possible to understand self-identity? Or even this question, could I change destiny? Well, this is a popular question and also has a famous story. Its name The Adventures of Pinocchio.

Pinocchio is a tale of Carlo Collodi, that repeatedly appeared on the silver screen. Pinocchio's story is the eternal and glorious home for Carlo spirit and everyone that adores children's world. Everyone comes to this home, almost doubtless can expect to be that meets Carlo's spirit in oneself home. Many film directors made excellent and impressive movies about this wooden marionette, But it would be said that still, Walt Disney's Pinocchio (1940) is the best of them.

Of course, everyone amazed by the answers given in Toy Story 4. Even the famous character called Woody. These answers are the same things that have given a new and different identity to Toy Story 4. While still, you can find concepts and symbols of The adventures of Pinocchio in this film. Concepts that well were used to create an amazing new world.

Pixar's new character with googly eyes is called Forky. Forky is a new version of Pinocchio and clearly without the nose because Forky is anything, but isn't a liar. Bonnie makes the new toy of the waste materials while that feels hopeless and alone. She thought others (her parents and even her classmates) left him. Also, Geppetto does feel intensely lonely when creating Pinocchio.

That's why that, Forky has a life secret the same other toys. He is alive but has no knowledge of the truth of oneself self-identity. Even Wood believed a spork not be able to talk, but always there is a first time for everything.

Forky is a new toy that seems to come from another world. Even, he can not tolerate toys' warm welcome. Although toys too are wondered of meeting the talking spork.

Forky is against the main question. Why he is alive, This question is the same question that Pinocchio has of oneself, but he must know the easy answer is an apparent success. Forky will throw oneself to a garbage can, as oneself says that time he is free. Pinocchio too was looking for quick solutions and of course, learned good lessons of his experiences.

The main events of Toy Story 4 happening in an amusement park. Where that has very much like to locations of Pinocchio's story, locations such as the amusement park, the circus, etc. Other the charming character in Toy Story 4 is Bo Peep. Bo Peep is a porcelain figurine, and meanwhile, she has a major role in the story. Responsibility for this role in Pinocchio's story is The Blue Fairy.

Bo Peep's character is associated finely with stars in the story. Stars printed on the cover of her lamp. Woody too found out Bo Peep, at least twice in the movie, by the reflective shine of stars. The equivalent of this scene in Pinocchio' story when that Geppetto kneels against the shining star in the night sky, and pray, and finally the Blue Fairy appears. It seems Bo Peep lives in the other world, where that has mysteries laws and unknown, where that toys can pursue new goals. It shows that still, the world of toys have many secrets.

Bo Peep is such a safe angel or even a warrior angel for toys that look for new goals in their life. Can be said that all these are due to the subtle look to story Pinocchio. Understand Bo Peep's world is a new experience for Woody. Woody was amorously trying to learn Forky that the joy of a child is the strongest reason for joy a toy.

In a scene, Bo Peep takes Woody into her hideout. Woody must bow his head for entry to the hideout, even Woody's hat gets stuck to the door frame, that can be the same the regard to true freedom. With all these qualities, I can tell Woody has a role similar to the role of Talking Cricket in Pinocchio's story. Also, Disney had given to Talking Cricket a new and unique role in Pinocchio (1940).

Talking Cricket was the friend and the very kind advisor for Pinocchio, and of course, this merciful cricket was deserving for taking a huge award at the end of the story, but what was his reward?

Talking Cricket's reward was a golden star similar to Woody's golden star. That was a kind of medal of conscience or rather knighthood medal. The star-shaped badge that was like a meaningful legacy for Sheriff Woody, and he gave it to Jessie because still, toys need to a knight.

Woody's decisions due to this meaningful legacy are significant. Hence, Woody ready to help to Gabby, because he believes the better life is the right of all.

I think this is another difference between Pinocchio's story and Toy Story 4. In the world of Toy Story 4, someone is not Intrinsically wicked and villain. There are two new characters called Bunny and Ducky in Toy Story 4. A lively and cute pair that in communication with humans can show thoughts of violence of themselves. Of course, I should admit that violence Bunny and Ducky due to the bad behavior of humans with them. Compared with their role in Pinocchio's story, can mention two characters called the Fox and the Cat.

Gabby falls into a box of wastes, where Forky with enthusiasm was look for it. This scene remembers the bitter fate of puppet dolls in Stromboli's puppet show in Walt Disney's Pinocchio (1940).

In Stromboli's puppet show, there weren't many ways to select. Dolls must every night play a role in Stromboli's puppet show or fall into a box of wastes. Seems, in Toy Story 4 dolls similar Gabby too had been captured in an invisible loop for play in one role.

At the end of the story, Gabby showed the concealed and valuable part of oneself identity, that proves queen of glass cupboard is full of good feelings.

If the peak of the action in the adventure of Pinocchio was in the sea and the fight to a monster, the peak point of Toy Story 4 is in the sky with the high jump from the Ferris wheel. This Peak is due to deep understanding between Woody and Bo Peep, or in other words, is due to deep understanding between Talking Cricket and Blue Fairy, So the sky is a good location for the peak.

Ultimately, the good movie seen on the silver screen, that earned the best scores of critics. This movie is a successful execution of the mixture of mysteries with nostalgia. But I can tell Carlo Collodi has a large share in this successful. The man that knew so well children's world and toys, and his spirit whit his meaningful legacy forever will be guest in stories.
