- Country:
- United States
Actor Lela Loren has been cast as a series regular in Netflix's sci-fi show "Altered Carbon". The "Power" actor is essaying the role of Danica Harlan in the show's sophomore season. She has already completed shooting on her role, the streamer said in a statement.
Harlan is the charming and ambitious governor of planet Harlan's World. She has the support of the people but keeps an uneasy grip on the political players who surround her. In the show, Loren will appear alongside the likes of Anthony Mackie, Renee Elise Goldsberry, Chris Conner, Dina Shihabi, Simone Missick, Torben Liebrecht and James Saito.
"Altered Carbon" is based on the groundbreaking cyberpunk novel of the same name by Richard K Morgan. The story takes place over 300 years in the future where society has been transformed by new technology: consciousness can be digitized; human bodies are interchangeable; death is no longer permanent.
Alison Schapker is the showrunner on season two. She is also executive producing it alongside Laeta Kalogridis, James Middleton, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Marcy Ross. Produced by Skydance Television, "Altered Carbon" season two will premiere on Netflix next year.
