Muthuvel Karunanidhi died today at the age of 94. Karunanidhi was admitted to the hospital on July 28 following a dip in his blood pressure. He is in the ICU ever since.

Muthuvel Karunanidhi died today at the age of 94. Karunanidhi was admitted to the hospital on July 28 following a dip in his blood pressure. He is in the ICU ever since. DMK president M Karunanidhi died here today after prolonged illness, the city hospital where the leader was admitted, said. The 94-year-old leader's end came at 6.10 p.m. "With deep anguish, we announce the demise of our beloved Kalaignar M Karunanidhi on 07.08.2018 at 6.10 pm.
Karunanidhi served 5 separate terms as CM of Tamil Nadu during 1969-2011. He is currently the chief of DMK party.
Karunanidhi entered the 50th year as DMK President recently and DMK celebrated the event by distributing sweets and giving away welfare assistance, a party leader claimed.
President Ram Nath Kovind, Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu had also visited ailing DMK president M Karunanidhi at the hospital to inquire about his health.
