Mercury level to rise up to 44 degrees Celsius in Amritsar on Tuesday, as predicted by India Meteorological Department. It has further predicted the temperature to oscillate between 32 degrees Celsius to 44 degrees Celsius in the upcoming days.
"The temperature in Punjab and Haryana is going to increase during the next 3-4 days. The temperature will be above 45 degrees. The most impacted regions will be mainly in South-Western of Punjab and Haryana. There is a possibility of a heatwave in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh," said Surendra Paul, IMD Director, Chandigarh. As severe heatwave is prevailing in many parts of the country. It is likely to continue mainly for the next 2 days. "Red alert is given to Haryana, Western region of Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Rajasthan. There will be a slight fall in temperature due to western disturbances after two days, predicted Dr Naresh Kumar, Scientist, IMD. (ANI)
