Google Cloud invites entries for its data storytelling contest called Visualize 2030

As part of the Global Cloud challenge, the participant has to submit a data-driven story telling how two SDGs influence each other and what all can be done to achieve the goals by 2030.

Google Cloud is inviting entries from student/ graduates for its data storytelling contest called Visualize 2030.

The contest is a joint work of the World Bank, the United Nations Foundations and the Global Partnerships for Sustainable Development Data.

The contest gives college or graduates a chance to contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals to be achieved by 2030. The United Nations has set seventeen sustainable Development Goals formally known by: "Transforming our World: The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development".

A total of 169 targets are to be achieved. The issues included are poverty, hunger, health, education, global warming, gender equality, water, sanitation, energy, urbanization, environment and social justice.

As part of the Global Cloud challenge, the participant has to submit a data-driven story telling how two SDGs influence each other and what all can be done to achieve the goals by 2030.

The data used for the contest must be from at least one of the newly available BigQuery datasets given by the UN Statistics Division and the World Bank.

The minimum age required for the contest is 18. The students should be enrolled at the college or graduate level. The data store has to have all; Data, Narrative arc, Interactivity, Design Language, and Accessibility.

The last date for the submission of the data story is September 2018. The result of the same will be announced during the UN World data forum. The top five winners will receive a winning amount of USD 10,000 as cash price and a publication by Google Cloud.
