Co-accused denied bail in salon finance manager murder case

A Mumbai court today rejected the bail plea of Khushi Sajwani, a co-accused in the killing of a 28-year-old finance manager of a salon.

Sajwani's (42) bail was rejected by Additional Sessions Judge Anil Laddhad.

Confirming the development, a senior Crime Branch official said her bail was rejected by the court on merit.

"During the investigation, we connected all the dots and found that there was ample evidence against her. That is the reason why the court rejected her bail," he said.

Sajwani and another accused Siddhesh Tamhankar (28),

both colleagues of the victim were arrested in May.

The two arrested persons worked as an account executive and account manager at a salon chain in suburban Andheri and used to report to the victim, Kriti Vyas.

Vyas was allegedly killed because she had issued a memo to one of the accused of not working properly.

She had gone missing on March 16 and her family after scouring CCTV images of Grant Road and Mumbai Central

railway stations to locate her had filed a missing person's complaint at DB Marg police station.

Her body is yet to be found.

Vyas, her family had told police, used to board the 9:11 am a Virar-bound suburban train from Grant Road to the salon in Andheri.

The case was later handed over to the Crime Branch which made the two arrests.

The case was cracked after a DNA test was done on the blood samples found in the car of one of the accused. The car

was allegedly used in the crime, police have said.
