Jail inmate hangs himself in Rajasthan's Hanumangarh

A jail inmate allegedly committed suicide on Wednesday by hanging himself in Rajasthan's Hanumangarh district, police said here.

The deceased Ayub alias Aaku (19) was recently shifted from Nohar jail to Hanumangarh District Jail.

He was found hanging in the jail by jail guard, Hanumangarh Jail Superintendent Suresh Kumar Meena said.

A judicial inquiry has been ordered in the matter, he added.

Ayub was arrested under sections of Arms Act on August 19. On August 24, he was referred to a Bikaner hospital by the doctors owing to his mental health. The accused was brought to Hanumangarh on Monday, Meena said.

The body has been kept at a government hospital mortuary for post-mortem, he said.
