Maha: Small, micro units in Waluj seek electricity from industrial feeders

These units currently get power supply from rural feeders which leads to frequent outages, said an official of the Marathwada Association of Small Scale Industries and Agriculture MASSIA.The association has raised the demand with the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited MSEDCL.There are 200 to 250 small and micro units in the area.

The Small and Micro units based around the Waluj industrial area in Maharashtra's Aurangabad district have demanded electricity supply from industrial feeders. These units currently get power supply from rural feeders which leads to frequent outages, said an official of the Marathwada Association of Small Scale Industries and Agriculture (MASSIA).

The association has raised the demand with the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL).

''There are 200 to 250 small and micro units in the area. These units are out of the MIDC jurisdiction and get electricity from rural transformers. There are frequent power cuts, leading to losses,'' said executive member of the MASSIA P K Gaikwad. The consumption of these units is nearly five million units per month, he told PTI. MASSIA spokesperson Rahul Mogale said that as per MSEDCL officials, a proposal for a fresh line from nearby Karodi has been sent which will benefit these units. PTI AW KRK KRK
