Five electrocuted in UP

Five people were electrocuted in two incidents in Ballia and Azamgarh districts of Uttar Pradesh, police said.

In Azamgarh, Bhaggal Yadav (65) and his son, Munna Yadav (40), we're going on their motorcycle when they came in contact with a live high-tension wire that had fallen on a road near Sumhadih village on Saturday morning, police said.

The duo died on the spot after receiving serious injuries, they said.

In Ballia, three youths were killed and four others sustained serious injuries when they came in contact with a high-tension wire in Zindapur village on Friday night.

Imran Khan (16), Salim (18) and Shani Khan (22) were a part of a 'tazia' (Muharram procession) atop a truck and died on the spot, a police officer said.

The injured suffered serious burns and were admitted to a district hospital, the officer added.
