EU, UAE pledge to build support for global renewable energy goals

The European Commission and the United Arab Emirates will attempt to build support to set global goals to expand renewable energy, ahead of this year's COP28 climate summit in Dubai, the two sides said on Wednesday.

In a joint statement, the UAE's Presidency of the COP28 summit and the Commission said they would: "work to ensure maximum support among parties at COP28 on global 2030 targets for the tripling of renewable energy and doubling of energy efficiency".
