Union Minister of State (MoS) for Education Subhas Sarkar was locked up inside the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) office here in Bankura district following a scuffle between workers of two factions. Union Minister Sarkar, who was visiting the district for a meeting earlier on Tuesday, was locked up for over two hours.
While he was locked up inside, the BJP workers raised slogans against him from outside the office. One of the protesters, Mohit Sharma, alleged that the minister was not giving importance to dedicated party workers.
"Some of us have been show-caused. We are protesting to save the party," the miffed party worker said. Further reports are awaited. (ANI)
