70th NCC Day celebrations kicks off with 'Run for Fun' in Lucknow

The week-long celebrations for the 70th National Cadet Corps (NCC) Day kicked off with a "Run for Fun" marathon in the state capital on Sunday.
Major General A.K. Sapra, Additional Director General NCC (UP Directorate) flagged off the marathon in which around 800 people participated.
The event was aimed at creating awareness among NCC cadets and the common people on issues like environmental conservation and to promote a sense of fitness and well-being.
"Since NCC is deeply associated with the development of youth, conduct of such an event will go a long way to further foster the spirit of physical and mental fitness and robustness of character and stamina," an NCC official said.
