The leader of one of France's main farmer unions on Thursday made a call to lift roadblocks across the countries, after the French government announced a new bundle of measures to address grievances voiced by farmers during two weeks of protests.
Speaking at a news conference in Paris, Arnaud Gaillot, from the Young Farmers (Jeunes Agriculteurs) said he favoured other forms of protests, saying the government had listened to farmers and that acts now needed to follow the announcements.
It was unclear whether farmers blocking dozens of highways and logistics hubs across the country would follow the call.
