Tragedy Strikes Indian Vacationers in Sri Lanka

An Indian couple drowned at Kirinda Beach in Sri Lanka while on holiday with their family. Identified as a 35-year-old male and 33-year-old female, they were rescued but died upon hospital admission.

An Indian couple on vacation with their family met a tragic fate at a sea beach near Hambantota in southern Sri Lanka, police reported on Wednesday.

The victims, a 35-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman, both Indian nationals, were confirmed to be a married couple according to preliminary investigations.

The incident took place during their family visit to Kirinda Beach, as stated by the news portal Adaderana.lk. The police withheld the identities of the deceased.

Despite being rescued while drowning and dragged away by strong waves, the couple unfortunately succumbed to their conditions upon arrival at the hospital.
