The World Bank has sanctioned an additional $1 billion loan to bolster Pakistan’s Dasu Hydropower Project, located in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
This marks the third major financial endorsement from the global lender, following previous investments of $588.4 million for preparatory work and $700 million for transmission lines.
Despite facing deadly terrorist attacks on Chinese workers, the project continues forward, touted as a game-changer for Pakistan’s energy sector.
