The Rouse Avenue Court has directed the trial and the recording of statements from prosecution witnesses in the alleged sexual harassment case involving former MP and former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) Chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, and Vinod Tomar, to commence on July 26.

In the latest proceedings, the counsel for Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, Advocate Rajiv Mohan, withdrew an application seeking documents related to Sharan Singh's foreign travel and hotel stays, with the option to refile with more details. The court has officially framed charges against Sharan Singh and Tomar, who have denied the allegations and opted for trial.

The Court had earlier found sufficient material to proceed against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh on charges under sections 354, 354A, and 506 (part 1) of the IPC, based on allegations from multiple women wrestlers. The Delhi Police chargesheet, comprising 1599 pages and statements from 44 witnesses, recommended prosecution of both accused without arrest, given their compliance with investigation protocols. Two FIRs were filed against Sharan Singh, with charges involving sexual harassment and molestation.
