CBSE Affiliates with SGFI: National Games Participation from 2024

Starting 2024-25, winners of CBSE National Games will compete in SGFI National School Games. CBSE warns schools against unaffiliated Agra-based CBSE-WSO, advising them to confirm any such communications via the official CBSE website.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has formalized its affiliation with the School Games Federation of India (SGFI) effective from July 8.

Starting from the academic year 2024-25, winners of the CBSE National Games will be eligible to participate in the SGFI National School Games held annually, according to a CBSE press release.

In its statement, CBSE also warned of an outfit named the CBSE Board School Games Welfare Society (CBSE-WSO) in Agra, which is falsely claiming affiliation with CBSE to organize sports events. Schools were advised not to engage with this organization as it is not affiliated with CBSE. Violating this advisory may lead to disciplinary action, the Board emphasized.
