BJP Alleges Voting Fraud as TMC Sweeps West Bengal Bypolls

BJP MP Sukanta Majumdar accused TMC of fraud in the West Bengal bypolls, where TMC won all four seats. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee expressed gratitude to voters, dedicating the victory to their perseverance despite challenges. Raiganj, Ranaghat, and Bagdah seats saw intense competition.

BJP MP Sukanta Majumdar on Saturday claimed that the Trinamool Congress (TMC) committed "fraud" in the recent bypolls, alleging that BJP secured merely three to four votes in some booths. Majumdar stated, "This is fraud in the name of votes...We have complained to the Election Commission earlier also but there was no hearing."

The TMC emerged victorious in all four seats during the West Bengal Assembly bypoll on Saturday. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee revealed that her party regained three seats previously held by the BJP and retained one TMC-held seat.

"Among the four seats, three were held by the BJP, both in the Lok Sabha and in the Vidhan Sabha. We have won all three and held on to our seat as well. That means four out of four. I express my gratitude to our people for this victory," Banerjee said, speaking to reporters in Kolkata on Saturday. She dedicated the win to the electorate, attributing the success to their support despite "conspiracy" by the BJP and other agencies.

Discussing the Raiganj assembly bypoll, Banerjee commented, "BJP and Congress made us lose (from Raiganj) by using money in polls. Then I asked Krishna Kalyani to contest the polls because he was the MLA from the region. He accepted the challenge and we are grateful to people for voting him to power."

In Ranaghat, Banerjee noted that former BJP MLA Mukut Mani, now with TMC, won the Assembly bypoll despite losing the previous Lok Sabha election, allegedly due to misleading campaigns and election interference.

Commenting on Bagdah's bypoll, Banerjee said, "In Bagdah, Biswajit (Das) lost the polls. He is a good, strong leader. He opted out of contesting this time, so we fielded our youngest candidate, Madhuparna Thakur. Despite a tough fight, she secured victory, demonstrating strong support from the people."
