Union Minister of State for Agriculture, Bhagirath Choudhary, stressed on Thursday that farmers' development should be a national priority to foster the country's growth.
Speaking with farmers during his three-day tour in Mizoram, Choudhary highlighted the Centre's ambitious goal to increase farmers' income fourfold by 2029.
During his visit, Choudhary engaged with state agriculture officials and visited the College of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry at Selesih, near Aizawl, to discuss initiatives to enhance agricultural productivity and sustainability.
Choudhary emphasized government support for Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) and underscored the necessity of developing infrastructure for better crop storage and market access for farmers.
